As a sales manager, achieving growth is one of the most important tasks the candidate will be required to undertake. Meeting sales targets is yet another inherent aspect that the sales manager will need to keep in mind. From managing the sales team to designing and executing a strategic sales plan that ensures the expansion of an organization's customer base, the sales manager is responsible for it all. S/he aspiring to make a name in a sales manager job will have to manage hiring, set objectives, coach, and also monitor the performance of sales representatives closely. Customer acquisition and revenue growth also fall under the purview of a sales manager. From maximizing the sales team potential to creating sales plans, the sales manager will also be expected to justify those ideas to the leadership and the upper management. Apart from that, the sales manager will need to work upon building and promoting relationships that are meant to last long and are extremely strong. Added to that, the candidate will be required to present reports on sales, revenue and expenses and also work on realistic forecasts to be showcased to the management team. Identifying new and emerging markets and knowing trends in the market is also part of the sales manager's KRA.
