The Role
We are seeking a UI designer with 2- 3 years design experience, some UX design skills and business analyst (BA) skills to work with our product design and development teams that build retirement and personal online finance tools and solutions.
This is a broad ranging design role that is primarily focussed on implementing and maintaining existing designs. Duties will include coordinating design delivery, documenting specifications, updating existing designs, implementing design concepts, wireframing and organising user testing.
The successful applicant will be working with graphic designers across different clients and supporting the development team by updating designs to address/ problem-solve functionality and UX issues that come up during development process.
In addition, there might be opportunities to assist in developing marketing materials, such as online product demos, PowerPoint presentations, etc.
Detailed tasks will include:
Design delivery
  • Modify and revise existing designs and content based on stakeholder feedback
  • Coordinate stakeholder input for designs and manage signoffs
  • Provide design support to the development team as they implement the designs, including updating designs to address functionality and UX issues
  • Maintain existing design system
  • Maintain re-usable components design library and specifications
  • Coordinate with third party graphic designers to ensure accurate communication and efficiency in the design phase
  • Draft and edit wireframes as needed
  • Champion re-usable component design
  • Convert design concepts into clickable prototypes

UX design
  • Assist in optimising the existing UX designs as per need

Quality assurance and efficiency
  • Proof-read wireframes and designs to ensure consistency and accuracy
  • Provide input into testing criteria for User Interface focussed Agile development tasks
  • Undertake QA testing of developed software against the approved designs

Requirements scoping
  • Plan, organise and coordinate user testing sessions
  • Document user testing results
  • Share results with stakeholders and agree updates to be made

  • Build and produce usage reports for our tools using Google Analytics and Matomo

  • Assist in developing marketing materials and undertaking marketing campaigns

  • Collaborate effectively on projects with nominated business, design, and technical representatives
  • Build positive relationships within the TAS team. Open and proactive when constructive feedback is provided.

  • Be knowledgeable and conscious of clients needs and understand the full scope of client projects and work assignments to ensure all aspects of these assignments are met.
  • Assist in mapping and documenting client needs
  • Coordinate initiatives to implement client feedback

  • Ensure quality by reviewing wireframes and designs, and proof-reading communications to ensure highest quality and accuracy
  • Assist the development team with implementing the designs to the highest accuracy and standard
  • Continually monitor new developments in the market, including competitor initiatives to ensure our solutions remain competitive and best practice

  • Ensure design tasks are completed in a timely fashion to a high degree of accuracy to drive positive financial results
  • Ensure designs support a ‘re-usable component approach, wherever possible, to maximise efficiency and positive financial results
  • Contribute to managing the financial aspects of projects effectively by providing accurate reports of projects costs

The Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (English)
  • UI design skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience in working with FIGMA, or similar design software
  • Business Analyst skills
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics and/or Motomo
  • UI/ web development skills
  • Prior experience in working in marketing communications or product design teams
  • Keen desire to learn
