Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities:
• Provides solid expertise to implement and support complex Unix OS based infrastructure. (Solaris and LINUX)
• Provides server performance monitoring and fine tuning
• Proactively seeks for deficiencies and provides suggestions to improve infrastructure and processes in order to improve availability and serviceability of the infrastructure
• Works closely with Database Administrators, Storage Analysts, Application Support and other groups in order to provide fast problem resolution and to improve client experience
• Proactively looks for opportunities and provides suggestions in improving system availability and ability to save cost
• Involves and participates in resource management and the development of capacity plans based on historical trends and business drivers
• Requires being aware of new directions in the areas of operating systems, computer systems
• Determines level of availability for business requirements when implementing new designs
• Identifies and documents availability shortfalls and develop corrective action plans
Required Experience:
• With 4 years solid experience in Systems Administration
• Experienced managing large number of servers both physical and virtual
Required Skills:
Tools: Clustering Technologies – Veritas, SUN Clustering, Linux Clustering, Veritas Foundation Suite, Solaris Volume Manager
Software: Shell scripting and other scripting methodology
Hardware, O/S: Linux, SUN/Solaris (Solaris 10) , IBM/AIX, HP-UX , AIX
Others: VMware ESX, Firewall
