A Day in the Life
Senior HR Generalist - Vietnam
  • Actively participates with Vietnam leaders in operational planning of people agenda
  • Establish strong partnering relationships across assigned functions to enable business outcomes
  • Maintain an 'outside-in' perspective to leverage current industry, local and Medtronic best practices and insights in support of talent strategies

  • Support strategic initiatives to ensure organizational effectiveness, with specific focus on team effectiveness, matrix management, and functional operational efficiency
  • Partner with management to assess organizational capabilities in alignment with business strategy
  • Assess and facilitate organization design and leadership changes

  • Influence business outcomes through credible and authentic relationships with leaders and colleagues
  • Counsel leaders in alignment with Medtronic policies/practices, legal considerations, and company priorities-advocating both company and employee concerns
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and coach to senior leaders giving effective feedback, performance coaching, and development advice in support of their leadership effectiveness

  • Inclusion and Diversity - Drive progress toward GIDE aspirations and ensure diversity of talent.

  • Counsels and provides partnership to employees and all levels of management across the full spectrum of employee relations matters in alignment with our practices, policies, and local labor legislation.
  • Effective case management of people related issues such as: ER issues, disciplinary actions, legal issues (harassment, discrimination etc), performance management (including Performance Improvement Plans and Coaching plans), policy interpretation and investigations.
  • The work includes proactive workplace initiatives and strategies workplace investigations and internal reviews performance improvement and discipline processes end of employment/restructuring labor relations crisis management and, general employee relations coaching and conflict resolution.
  • Develops and leads proactive employee and labor relations strategies to contribute to a positive work environment by leveraging data, addressing areas of opportunity and minimizing risk.
  • Plays key leadership role in restructuring initiatives, resulting in employee transitions

Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

Nice to Have
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • English proficiency is essential.
  • 6+ years of experience in the HR field
  • Industry experience partnering with Commercial Organization
  • Talent Mastery
  • Strong problem solving/Analysis skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders relationships across a matrix organization (across-functions, countries & businesses), effective matrix skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to communicates with ease at different levels of hierarchy and highly developed communication and influencing skills and a strong negotiator
