Job Summary

Major Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Major Accountabilities (the main functions of the position)

. Manage all material costs relating to contracts.

. Seek to minimize the costs of projects and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards

and quality which are mainly specified by statutory building regulations and engineering specifications which the

estimator needs to understand and adhere to.

. Prepare schedules of quantities which involves measuring and estimating material quantities and costs

. Report to the Operations Manager any errors or inaccuracies which involve rework or reordering of materials

. Any reasonable task requested by the company.

. Prepare & manage proposals/quotes for prospective clients

. Contribute to the development of the pricing worksheet.

. Supplier negotiation & pricing

. Be a team player targeting business goals.

. Contribute new ideas/feedback as required.

. Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.

. Other duties as assigned

. Be a team player in achieving business goals, participation in team meetings

. Contribute new ideas/feedback as required

. High communication and organizational skills required

Experience: . In a construction business or manufacturing business that is involved with Sheds / Garages /

Buildings so you have actual experience in knowing all the different parts of a building and

how they go together.

. Extensive experience in pricing and contract documentation is required.

. Experience in working in a remote role where communication & self-management is key.

Skills, Knowledge,and Abilities: Mandatory:

. High competency level in use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, as a minimum)

. Read and interpret building drawings and understanding of the construction process.

. Knowledge of building law, regulations and building methods and materials.

. Well organized - meets deadlines and commitments even when interrupted

. Prioritizes work according to business importance

. Ensures correctness in all detail of work

. Shows a high level of attention to detail - notices & corrects errors

. Plans & effectively implements work activities in an environment where interruption and

unexpected events are the norm
