Position Summary The Payroll Manager ensures the payroll and time functions are operating efficiently and servicing customers effectively. Located in J&J's regional hub in Manila, the Payroll Manager is accountable for Payroll Processing, Tax, and Specialized Services in addition to overseeing the work being performed by the regional payroll analysts. As the Payroll Manager you are responsible for managing and ensuring the efficient operation of the payroll function and department, including the generation, distribution, and reporting of the business monthly payrolls and special off-cycle payroll. Continuous improvement is important to J&J and this role recognizes and suggests areas for improvement. In addition, the Payroll Manager coordinates with the payroll Vendor to ensure compliance with all local government regulatory reporting requirements including preparation of quarterly government filings, annual reporting, and year-end employee legal filing forms. The Payroll manager is on point to monitor maintenance and repairs of payroll system. As the Payroll Manager, you will oversee and confirm the preparation of filing of required reports and/or payments to government agencies, insurance carriers, other organizations, and individual employees. The Reporting and metrics provides J&J with the visibility into operations and performance so you will be asked to create and use metrics to benchmark performance, improve processes and productivity and our ability to efficiently scale our business and integrate acquisitions. Additionally, you will track and report on data related to complex inquiries and resolves difficult issues. Payroll Managers are expected to invest time in growing a high performing team by developing, coaching, and mentoring team members to yield a high-performance motivated team. The Payroll Manager will set annual goals to develop effective career development paths and encourage continuous learning. The Payroll Manager reports directly to the Regional Hub Leader and is the manager of the Regional Payroll / Time Analysts and Operations support analysts. As part of your day-to-day role, you will interact with both internal and external customers ranging from employees, managers, internal partners to external third-party vendors. In addition, the Payroll Manager will also interact with key internal functional partners such as Human Resources and Finance. Key Responsibilities The Global Payroll Manager manages the Global Payroll Analysts and oversees the work, providing managerial support as needed. Payroll Processing Responsible for execution of J&J tasks and monitor vendor tasks from Payroll Business Procedure Manual governing payroll cycle Review, approve and sign off on preparer's work and ensure compliance and audit controls are met Review payroll checklist and signing-off of on payroll cycle on J&J's behalf on vendor client portal Approving the Bank File to for payment distribution to the employees Specialized Services Directly supervise payroll activities associated with the taxation and income reporting for employee equity including Restricted Stock Unit and CEC dividends Recording tax details of an employee's Long-Term Incentive (LTI) grant, vesting and exercise in the Payroll system Perform payroll activities associated with Overpayment processing and Clawbacks Oversee payroll activities pertaining to International assignments and Permanent transfers, including processing of third party pay instructions and reporting Qualifications Education . BA/BS degree or equivalent is required . A minimum of 5 years of relevant payroll operations experience is required . Minimum of three (3) years of experience in HR/Payroll processes is required Skills . Managerial experience ability to lead teams . Strong customer experience skills ability to work with a multitude of people across global footprint . Strong verbal and written communication skills . Strong problem-solving and analytical skills . Ability to make timely decisions Toolset (Preferred but not Required) . Knowledge and/or Experience with the ADP Celergo, ADP GV, eTime, Kronos T&A application, Workday Human Resource (HR) System . Knowledge and/or Experience with the Salesforce Case Management Tool . Knowledge and/or Experience with Knowledge Management artifacts such as Desktop Procedures (DTPs) Others .
