The Government Relations Officer role will have dynamic tasks depending on context and need. Two of the major tasks involve auxiliary (non-agriculture) CSR implementation monitoring for the company's programs/projects, and permit acquisition bottleneck management. Regardless of task, the Government Relations Officer will require a certain level of savvy confidence in interpersonal interaction that is needed to continually create and build relationships with both national and local government officials.

Success in this role will require you to fulfill the following responsibilities:

1. Oversight of major auxiliary programs implementations and serving as point person or main liaison with program/project partners and stakeholders
2. Occasional project design and proposal for industry/sector specific beneficiaries
3. Lobbying and negotiating with national and local government officials for more seamless permit processes and other company interests in specific identified areas
4. Network building and relationship deepening with government agencies and relevant stakeholders
5. Budget management and proposal logistic support for unit supervisor
6. Document creation/processing and internal/external correspondence

Job Qualifications
    • College Graduate preferably Political Science, Development Communications, Economics, International Studies, or other related fields
    • With grad school units/law school units are a plus
    • 1 - 2 years work experience
    • With corporate foundation/developmental NGO experience is preferred
    • LGU and/or national government agency experience is a plus
    • Political campaign experience is a plus
    • Wide contact network is a plus
    • Legislative agenda lobbying is a plus
    • Critical Expertise/Skills: interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, organizational skills, MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint Proficient, aware of current events and political situations, used to being in high-pressure situations/ interacting with high-profile personalities
    • Industry background: government experience is preferred, oil/gas, and retail is a plus
    • Realistic Job Preview: Officer (Government Relations) reports to the office and is in charge of COCO Station permit applications, geographical strategy, and network harnessing. He or she will be in charge of compiling on the ground information and reporting. When needed, the coordinator will also be asked to do field work or set meetings outside the office to facilitate relationships between key local officials/stakeholders and field officers.
    • Willing to do field work and travel when needed
    • Knows a regional/provincial language outside of English and Tagalog at least on a conversational level


Expectations from Candidates:

Candidates who are invited for HR screening will need to undergo and pass an online exam and/or technical exam, and accomplish HR documents, personality tests, and essay exams before proceeding to the HR interview.

Candidates who pass the HR interview would then need to submit soft copies of their available pre-employment requirements, such as the Transcript of Records, Diploma, and NBI clearance. The complete list will be provided by the recruiter.

In the event candidates are hired, they would be required to submit hard copies of all the pre-employment requirements and pass the medical exam and background check before onboarding.
