So what does a Network Hero really do Think of yourself as someone who will ensure maximum possible service availability and performance across the TaskUs Infrastructure, so not everyone can qualify for this role. Imagine yourself going to work with one thing on your mind: you will manage the IT system services such as, but not limited to, active directories, messaging, internet, file sharing, and storage systems, call and transaction recordings, applications, and other systems and services through data encoding and monitoring to ensure 24x7 operations and minimal service impact. As you tackle your new tasks for the day, you know that it will lead to one thing: that you will monitor the system and network health, perform troubleshooting, plus escalate the incidents and requests to the next level of support for a resolution.
As a Network Hero, you will provide early warning and rapid response for each and every alert. You will also validate the alert and escalate to appropriate IT technicians to have the issue investigated further. You will investigate issues, resolve problems, and communicate status. You will also perform routine health checks over and above automated monitoring to ensure the quickest detection time for service affecting issues. You will respond to any number of alarms, alerts, or abnormal behaviors detected through reactive or proactive monitoring. You will provide analysis through the monitoring systems to proactively identify network issues. You will monitor ticket queue for incoming service requests and respond/resolve issues as required. You will conduct regular maintenance such as the server, storage, and database backup activities (i.e. automatic backup routines, testing data integrity, offsite storage of media). You will also copy all files from the servers to storage media for archiving and disaster recovery purposes. You will also conduct equipment preventive maintenance, upgrades, as well as records maintenance to ensure that IT Systems infrastructure meets high standards of reliability and availability. You will generate periodic reports on systems and network performance. You will provide metrics internal and/or customer facing) to management as requested related to network performance. You will ensure that all activities are documented and tracked through the ticketing system. You will also execute established procedures as it relates to event, incident, and change management.
What else You will also adhere to escalation procedures, task procedures, and troubleshooting processes. You will maintain a team focused attitude and work towards creating a healthy, respectful atmosphere. You will also perform these duties in a flexible fashion as the Network Operations Center is open 24x7x365. You will also participate and/or be part of the NOC continuous improvement activities as defined.

Requirements:

So, what is it we’re looking for Well since this is a network hero post, we need someone with a minimum of 1 yearIT related experience and a minimum of 2 years Systems Administration experience with in-depth hands-on experience in OS X Operating Systems, Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP. Also, a degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or equivalent work experience in an engineering field is a need for this role.
Now let’s get technical. We need someone with a working knowledge of scripting in a number of different languages (Example: Bash/Shell, PowerShell, Ruby), someone who has an understanding of ITIL framework is a plus, Google G-Suite Administration, AND Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) Windows Server 2012 or VMware Certified Professional (VCP) is a plus. Experience in creating, utilizing, and maintaining technical documentation. Also, professional written and verbal communication skills are expected.
What else Well, we need someone who’s confident and goal oriented attitude with an ability to set and meet short and long-term objectives. We need someone who has the following abilities: the ability to work in a fast paced environment with dynamic priority evolution, ability to adapt to changing conditions and plans with well-reasoned decisions and minimal supervision, ability to execute responsibilities with a high sense of urgency and a willingness to drive issues forward within established processes. We also need someone who has the ability to begin troubleshooting any issue, problem, or oddity regardless of topic or content with a focus on assessment and engagement of proper external resources. Someone who can work under pressure to meet deadlines can adapt to change, can work well independently and in a team environment. We also need someone who’s excellent in verbal and writing communication skills, someone with experience in administering and managing SolarWinds tools and the like. We need someone who’s familiar with industry standard tools such as Wireshark in addition to a set of internal custom tools used in network management. Someone who has an excellent attention to detail and someone who’s amenable to working on shifting schedule.
