About You
We are looking for marketing talent who can shape our participation strategy, ensure brilliant marketing campaign development to execution in trade, development of robust consumer & shopper insights, cultural trends now and future, & building of marketing and digital capability across the business. Innovation is at the heart of our strategy to ensure we future proof our brand and business by always being relevant to our consumers. This role will require experience in Innovation strategy and execution, working closely with the Innovation team as well as global brand teams.
This role also requires leadership to work parent with the Corporate Relations team to build our reputation with consumers, customers and local stakeholders whilst building a highly engaged, diverse, and inclusive culture. This role requires leadership to engage in a matrix model, inspiring others through purpose & building a highly engaged, diverse, and inclusive culture through connecting with Diageo's purpose.
Function
The Philippines alcohol marketing is full of opportunity and Johnnie Walker has the highest awareness of all international spirits brands. There are many whitespaces areas which need shaping and entry strategies. We also need to be pioneers in the Industry leading the Responsible drinking agenda. We have a very diverse portfolio across all price points and we aspire to recruitment consumers into our brands, this role requires the Marketing Director to build a recruitment and trial strategy across all price tiers, including the luxury consumer - a key battleground for Diageo. The Marketing director needs to be a key business partner to the SEA Marketing Director, also work with the market GMs to develop Marketing strategies and coach in-market teams
About the Role
The Marketing and Innovation Director will drive breakthrough performance and lead the development of a transformational marketing strategy. He/she will be accountable for creating a high performing organization and executing the marketing programs necessary to step-change profitability and growth creation.
Be a role model in developing strategic marketing direction that translates into long-range brand building strategies and innovative marketing plans, fueled by a strong performance culture.

  • Convert Johnnie Walkers strong equity into more consumers via recruitment trial, leading to quality value share growth

  • Extend our leadership position to the total Alco beverage category and not just international spirits

  • Shape the Future through end-to-end Innovation strategy development and in-market execution to future proof our business

  • Amplify creativity and flair on building brands in culture

  • Build capability of the marketing team members in line with required marketing competencies.

  • Leading through purpose to have an immediate and wider impact across SEA

1. P&L Accountability

  • Monitors and influences brand performance to ensure it meets company Annual Operating Plan

  • Grow value share

  • Develop and deployment of marketing plans for the category that help build brand equity, grow market share and deliver sustainable profitable growth.

  • Anticipates and manages upsides and risks to ensure achievement of business targets.

2. Leadership

  • Leads a team in an engaging way to create a high performing team, who are inspired to take entrepreneurial risks, encouraged to continuously learn and develop themselves.

  • Able to build trust and respect through open and honest relationships with their team and across the business.

  • Build and coach diverse teams to unlock performance and growth, in an inclusive environment where everyone can be at their best.

3. Consumer Understanding

  • Works with consumer planning manager to get optimal consumer and shopper understanding for the category (market, brands, competition, media reach & mix).

  • Works with their consumer planning team to see through category, consumer and trends to leverage strategic idea creation as well as measure effectiveness of the marketing plans.

  • Conducts regular market analysis to understand implications for category/brands.

  • Applies market competitive information to develop an action plan to strengthen brand position.

4. Category & Portfolio strategic development

  • Work in partnership with global brand teams to ensure the right growth drivers and marketing assets are in place for the market and agree adaptation where required to accommodate local nuances.

  • Ensures key consumer & customer needs are at the core of all key strategic initiatives translated into a strong set of growth drivers and marketing assets

  • Ensure the right innovation pipeline for the category is developed and deployed in collaboration with Asia Pacific Innovation team and global brand team

  • Working with brand teams and media agencies to manage and execute the highly interconnected eco system of all media channels.

Experience required/Skills/Capabilities/Languages

  • 10+ years international experience in marketing roles primarily gained with blue-chip FMCG organizations.

  • Experience with line management / people management is a must, including at least 5 years of experience in a regional/global/leadership roles. A proven track record of building & leading high performing teams and achievement of stretching goals.

  • Lead and develop teams and is a skilled communicator who will collaborate and influence cross-functionally with key stakeholders to develop and execute strong category/brand plans.

  • A genuine interest in external trends, inquisitive nature to tap into trends and bring these to life.

  • Has successfully generated relevant/meaningful consumer insights, developed/implemented category/brand strategies, innovation plans and brand activation plans to drive market share and profitable growth.

  • Experienced in designing and delivering effective Brand Activation through Digital Media. Has successfully executed campaigns at scale through Social Media, Mobile and combined with classic communication/activation channels at point of purchase.
