Job Title: Java Tech Lead

Job description:
  • As a lead developer, understand the overall system and solution architecture from the architects and make sure that the emerging design is aligned towards it.
  • Analyse the business requirements assigned to the scrum teams in the form of features, stories and perform detailed designing. This includes,
  • Component interaction diagrams for microservices and other components.
  • Detailed sequence and class diagrams.
  • Other tactical design elements in the microservice architecture’s layer such as resources, repositories and aggregates etc.
  • Actively participate in story grooming sessions, understand detailed use cases, scenarios and make sure that the detailed design covers it.
  • Understand the strategy around interactions between internal services, external APIs, data feeds via JMS queues/topics and make sure that the detailed design is aligned towards it by not creating any redundant components.
  • Provide feedback and modify solution architecture as needed based on the outcomes from the detailed design exercise in case of any bottlenecks which demands adjustments in the solution design.
  • Understand the development and database design guidelines recommended by architects and make sure that it is followed in the team.
  • Work closely with other development leads and developers within onsite and offshore to make sure there is an alignment created in terms of the expected outcomes.
  • Make sure that the XP practices are followed within the team by reviewing the work and by demonstrating if needed by doing pair programming.
  • Coach other developers in doing detailed design work and preparing design diagrams using UML techniques.
  • Support other developers in troubleshooting issues when they are blocked with and share the knowledge from the learning.
  • Review git pull requests (code review) to make sure that the coding standards and best practices are followed according to the guidelines defined by the architects.
  • Conduct design review sessions with solution and technical architects as needed.
  • Aside from detailed design, review and coaching, actively contribute to the development and delivery of user stories prioritized by the Product Owners.
  • Work closely with architects to use cookbook recipes or standard patterns across the product in solving a common problem.
  • Based on the design outcomes help distribute the tasks across the team with the right logical split.
