In this role, your goals will be:

In three months:
  • Detailed understanding of existing end-to-end finance processes and workflows relating to reporting, billing, collections, treasury, payroll and taxation
  • Good understanding of WPP policies, and local GroupM policies, as well as financial and media agency systems
  • Full understanding and compliance with SOX control measures

In six months:
  • Ensure accurately and timely reporting of month-end OpCo's P&Ls and Balance sheets per WPP Reporting and using IFRS
  • Ensure adequate finance processes and finance controls in place to ensure compliance with SOX, WPP Policy, Statutory and Client audits
  • Ensure the preparation of the statutory accounts
  • Manage cost control across the OpCo's by analyzing costs, setting policies, ensuring adherence to policies
  • Establish rapport and good working relationship with the Finance teams and Agencies
  • Manage and coach finance managers and analysts and support their growth and development

In 12 months:
  • As second to CFO, must be able to hold the fort when she's not available
  • Lead all aspects of accounting and financial management, to ensure that profitability and cash flow are maximized. These will include:
    • Overseeing preparation of monthly management accounts and finance information
    • Establishment of efficient systems and procedures
    • Preparing detailed operational budgets and monitoring actual performance
    • Preparing annual statutory accounts and liaising with the auditors
    • Minimization and control of all taxation matters in liaison with GroupM and WPP
    • Control and appraisal of all capital expenditure
    • Prepare, monitor and evaluate annual budgets and forecasts
    • Promoting accuracy in revenue forecasting
    • Responsibility for productivity and profitability monitoring and reporting
  • Identify opportunities to improve and achieve sustainable compliance in finance operations and reporting

Minimum qualifications:
  • Ideally you started your career within the audit environment within a Big 4 for more than 4 years, and have been working in an international company for minimum five years, preferably in the marketing industry or similar
  • Excellent understanding of advanced financial and accounting concepts (IFRS) and SOX compliance
  • Leadership, ability to effect change and make decisions within own sphere
  • Strong presentation skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Dynamic, go-getter mindset that is comfortable with a changing environment
