Bring your career aspirations to life with AIA!The position is responsible for directing the team towards delivering timely, relevant, quality financial reports under IFRS and Statutory basis to various stakeholders and for providing guidance in meeting the goals set effectively and efficiently
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of Monthly FS Close, Statutory Reporting Requirements and leads the team in achieving the FS Close timelines set by AIA HK, Local Management, and Regulators
  • Key contact of external auditors in addressing queries/concerns raised on Statutory Results and leads Statutory audit activities, including analytical review of PhilamLife's Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss, preparation of Financial Statements and disclosures
  • Drive timely resolution of key issues raised by auditors and reviewers and completion of Financial Statements within required timeline by Regulators and AIA
  • Review deliverables, various FS Close adjustments/accruals and develops workplan for monthly reportorial requirements of Local Management to monitor progress and ensure that internal and external reporting deadlines are met
  • Handle period-to-period analysis of Byline and Operating Profit After Taxes and Variable Expense, highlighting reasons for variances versus prior years and budget and performs ratio analysis
  • Handle preparation of Key Management Reports such as Audit Committee and Board Meeting Materials, Monthly ExCo Meeting Materials, and Quarterly Financial Review Materials, among others.
  • Ensure appropriate internal controls are implemented over PhilamLife's Audit and Annual Statement's reporting processes and evaluate significant accounting issues and implement Statutory Reporting policy setting based on guidelines set by Regulators
  • Assist Senior Manager in the identification and setting of developmental requirements of the team members, performance goals and provides coaching/mentoring in day-to-day work
  • Review existing processes and procedures to develop recommendations for improvement efforts
  • Perform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet operational and/or other requirements.

Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Education -Must possess Bachelor of Science in Accountancy degree
  • Experience -At least seven(7) years audit experience with any of the big 4 audit firms (Navarro Amper & Co., Isla Lipana & Co., Sycip Gorres Velayo & Co. and Manabat SanAgustin & Co) or experience in financial reporting/budgeting/financial analysis with any of the top 10 life insurance companies in the Philippines
  • Certifications/licenses -Certified Public Accountant
  • Special skills -Significant analytical skillset, has knowledge and experience in IFRS/ PFRS proficient in MS Office applications has advanced knowledge in SAP, Business Intelligence, with good command in English (both oral and written)
