Work you'll do
  • Understand regulations and gather data quality business rules and requirements, in order to define and create data quality rules or standards for identified critical data elements in coordination with client stakeholders
  • Work with client stakeholders to collect, analyze and consolidate business rules and requirements (functional and service level requirements) to manage data and review solutions to meet these requirements
  • Work with IT engineers to implement these data quality functional and service level requirements in tooling
  • Develop and implement data quality scorecards
  • Support the development of data quality tooling, through testing the data quality profiling developed to meet the functional and service level requirements that were defined
  • Support the design and implementation of processes and controls to support data needs based upon defined business rules
  • Support data cleansing activities to accelerate data quality remediation
  • Work closely with client stakeholders to design, document and implement enterprise data policies, standards and procedures that can evolve with the enterprise data strategy to drive continuous improvement and achieve effective and sustainable leading governance practices
  • Utilize the available tools to monitor data quality both proactively and when issues are raised by client stakeholders
  • Determine when a data quality issue needs to be evaluated, work with client stakeholders for potential solutions to resolve the issue and root causes, and determine if an unresolved issue requires further escalation
  • Build and maintain personal relationships with key data stakeholders across the enterprise in all business areas
  • Work with client stakeholders to communicate and implement a data governance strategy and framework
  • Support client stakeholders in driving the adoption of data governance policies by working closely with different client teams to drive adoption and overcome individual and organizational resistance to change

Requirements
  1. Education. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Computer Science, or similar fields / Bachelor of Business, or a similar field
  1. Work Experience. 5+ years experience working with data from complex data sets and systems
  1. Competencies.
  • Knowledgeable on Data Quality Management practices such as data profiling, data quality assessment, data cleansing, etc. Certification in industry data management frameworks (e.g. DCAM) will be highly regarded
  • Able to understand the business context and regulatory requirements in order to define data quality functional requirements and standards
  • Experienced with data quality related solutions. Experience with one or more data quality tools (e.g. Informatica IDQ, Infosphere, etc) will be highly regarded
  • Experienced in understanding data quality reports and dashboards and can effectively do root-cause analysis of data quality issues
  • Experienced in developing solutions for remediating various data quality issues or a similar role that requires problem solving and stakeholder management
  1. Other Qualifications.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • A self-starter that is adept at resolving issues
  • A critical thinker and with excellent problem-solving skills to coordinate and tackle any challenges that may arise
  • Experience working with teams to solve problems and deliver high quality results in a fast-paced, unstructured environment
  • Demonstrated effective leadership, fostering both client and employee relationships
  • Experience of explaining and presenting technical information to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated capability of managing multiple projects/workstreams simultaneously
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Australia-based team members and clients
