Wholesale Lending Services (WLS) sits within the Commercial Bank and provides a broad array of Bi-Lateral and Syndicated loan servicing to the Firm's Wholesale Lending Businesses (CCB, CB, CIB, AWM). These functions include Loan Documentation Prep & Coordination, Credit Administration, Deal Closing/Funding, Credit Compliance Monitoring, Agent and Non-Agent Loan Servicing, Trade processing, and Collateral Perfection/ Management.
The Credit Monitoring Center of Excellence (CoE) provides Credit Compliance Monitoring for the Wholesale Loan Portfolio. This includes Covenant Document Tracking, Financial Covenant Monitoring, Borrowing Base Monitoring and Security Valuation Monitoring. The CoE consists of approximately 70-90 highly skilled staff across three locations in Columbus, Ohio (USA), Bengaluru (India) and Manila (Philippines).
The Operations Manager/Vice President will serve as the Manila Lead for the CoE to ensure the highest level of quality, ownership of credit monitoring, deliver agreed upon service levels and attain compliance and control objectives in the most efficient way possible. This individual is highly visible and will collaborate regularly withSenior Business Leaders and other key business partners. S/he will be an advocate for the client, as well as be an implementer of initiatives that promote operations effectiveness and employee engagement.
  • Design, Lead and implement operating model changes & improvements required as a result of audit/control, a need for internal process enhancements and/or other business partner directives/engagements
  • Provide appropriate governance and accountability for all business initiatives ensure organizational alignment in the design and execution of initiatives
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement with discipline around end-to-end workflow/process skills participate in the review and recommendation of operational systems and procedures develop and implement best practices in loan operations related to post approval processes and procedure
  • Drive high employee satisfaction and retention develop a strong pipeline of successors manage individual and team performance goals and expectations.
  • Ensure achievement of service levels, and strong control and quality performance provide regular coaching, feedback and career guidance
  • Responsible for support of process and policy initiatives designed to improve speed, quality, overall efficiency, and create a more client focused and commercially oriented Credit Monitoring Operation.
  • Responsible for (or participant with respect to) development and implementation of ongoing improved methods of processes, procedures, and delivery methods.
  • Develop and implement business strategy, and influence change through effective relationship management across a wide network of partners
  • Drive processing and service initiatives through influence and partnership with internal teams (e.g., Risk, Operations, etc.)
  • Present progress and strategy to varied audiences including executives and business partners in a crisp and efficient manner
  • Guide the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure a strong controls infrastructure
  • Work with Risk/Control partners to proactively identify and close any control gaps that may exist interact with internal/external auditors and regulators
  • Develop expertise in operational processes and gain in-depth understanding of business unit needs and outcomes

  • 10+ years of commercial banking/lending experience, includingcredit, structuring, closing, and loan documentation experience preferred
  • Commercial/high volume credit operations experience in conventional, real-estate and/or Small Business Administration loans (SBA) preferred
  • Demonstrated, well-rounded leadership with 7+ years in leadership roles managing significant numbers of employees in Financial Services (or comparable industries), Credit, Service/Operations, and/or Commercial/Business Banking
  • Knowledge ofloan documentation & perfection of collateral.
  • Well-developed ability to attract, train, motivate, develop and retain employees
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated success in building collaborative relationships with ability to influence the development and execution of key risk and operational strategies and projects
  • Proven communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to present to varied and large audiences, including senior executive updates
  • Proven ability to make appropriate decisions in a high volume environment.
  • Demonstrated acumen to direct capacity planning/project allocation and coordinate/plan daily production pipeline
  • Knowledge of the Firm's or similar financial institution's credit policy preferred
  • Accounting background and/or experience with credit compliance monitoring/analytics a plus
  • Established background in promoting a proactive risk culture and driving control initiatives, including knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Exceptional analytical, project management, decision-making and problem resolution skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with related credit systems such as CLASS/WebCLASS, ARC/iCRD, Deal Works, etc. a plus
  • Bachelor's Degree in business or legal related field preferred
