  • Worked in similar roles in the shipping industry
  • Shipping knowledge and understanding of industry terminology and a sound understanding of the cargo cycle flow.
  • A minimum of 5 years of continuous employment and no more than 2 employers within that period.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Microsoft Excel — Intermediate level (absolute minimum).
  • English proficiency in written and oral: Fluent

The Cargo Readiness Officer (CRO) is responsible for processing adequate equipment details to vendors, partners and local authorities to ensure a smooth loading and discharging of the equipment from/to the vessels. In order to coordinate such information, the CRO must coordinate between customers. partners. local authorities, vendors. XXXXX offices and other Group centres It's the Cargo Readiness Officer responsibility to take care of the administration of the outbound, in some instances of the inbound cargo of our deep sea and feeder vessels.


  • Timely and accurate response in correct language to queries.
  • Taking ownership of issues/decisions, act pro-actively to solve issues and follow up on those. In need of escalation. provide full overview of situation and actions taken to Supervisor or appointed employee during his/her leave.
  • Communicate in timely manner with other departments, partners, vendors & local authorities if required and necessary.
  • Ensure that the data flow is running smoothly between respective departments Agencies. Cargo Flow. HO departments, local OPS teams. other Group centres
  • Ensure that terminal related issues are addressed to avoid additional costs to the Group
  • Ensure all documents are provided for smooth loading and discharging of vessel.
  • Timely and accurate data entry of hazardous and reefer items, for internal and external use
  • Timely management of the late arrival requests
  • Timely request missing information to complete load list (VGM. missing container numbers, missing hazardous information. missing gate-in customs clearance)
  • Full ability to use IMDG Code to access DGD correctness.
  • Timely handover vessel to XXXXX Agencies. so all necessary information can be shared with needed departments
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned reports
  • Regularly and actively inform the Supervisor about vessel operations related matters
  • Assist other team members when needed, including the on-call person during the weekend.
  • First contact point to relay on are the team members and the Supervisor. In case of additional information is required or highlight needed. contact local Agencies or Head Office
  • Maintain necessary logs and KPI reports
  • Provide training and mentoring to (new) Team Members
  • Highlight all deviations from SOP and user guides to Senior members. make sure cut-off document is followed
