Job Description

As a Business Intelligence Specialist in the Operational Excellence group, you will participate as a member of a team that develops and supports various internal systems and tools that are used by colleagues and leaders. This includes an online dashboard that is used to report key business and financial metrics, a web-based system that is used to track and report on client projects, and various custom reports used by stakeholders to support their business needs.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Analyze and translate data into relevant business, actionable insights
  • Perform data mining including predictive analytics and trends analysis
  • Design and visualize new reports and online dashboards
  • Communicate findings and collaborate with stakeholders
  • Create DAX scripts that will be used to calculate required metrics presented in dashboards
  • Support data collection, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of bugs
  • Create required documentation
  • Work directly with stakeholders to understand and document requirements

  • Ensure that documentation is clear, concise, and accurate
  • Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional, virtual teams with members at all levels from different geographic areas
  • Contribute to the development of new tools, approaches, and processes
  • Promote a positive workplace environment

The Requirements:
  • BS/BA degree or relevant experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in software development and support
  • Demonstrated proficiency with SQL and ability to develop queries
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Power BI and Visual Studio
  • Experience in data analysis and visualization
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in handling multiple projects and initiatives, producing quality deliverables on time
  • Experience developing reports, business requirement documentation, process flow diagrams, use cases and testing plans
  • Strong knowledge of web technology products and delivery methodologies
  • Familiarity with financial concepts and processes would be beneficial
  • Adapt to shifting priorities, multiple competing demands, ambiguity, and frequent change
  • Display a willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to new business requirements
  • Ability to learn and apply new information, skills, and processes quickly and build upon existing knowledge and skills
  • Must be able to function autonomously and as part of a virtual team
  • Must be willing to work extended hours from time to time
