Job Description
• Is comfortable with most aspects of Redhat Linux and UNIX systems administration; for example, understands concepts and configuration of clustering, mail systems, system installation and configuration, printing systems, fundamentals of security, installing third-party software. Understands job control, soft and hard links, distinctions between the kernel and the shell. (Anything in HP is a plus point).

• Working knowledge of VMware and VMware virtualization.

• concepts of Vcenter, Vsphere and Vmotion.

• A solid understanding of a UNIX-based operating system, preferably HP and Redhat Linux understands paging and swapping, inter-process communication, devices and what device drivers do, filesystem concepts (""inode"", ""superblock"").

• Familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts; can configure NFS, MCSG,Ignite server for HP, strong skills in LVM, can use nslookup or dig to check information in the DNS, understands basic routing concepts. Understand the Linux kernel and tuning. Basic work on Linux and experience in volume management on Linux, understand/experience install, patching and upgrade in Redhat Linux (HPUX is an advantage)

• Ability to write scripts in some administrative language (bash, ksh, Tk, Perl, ).

Ability to do minimal debugging, troubleshooting and work with Infrastructure teams.

• Experience in clustering technologies - HP MCSG, VCS (veritas cluster servers), Redhat Cluster.

• Knowledge/Experience in HP UX 11iV3,HP UX 11iV1, 11iV2 is an advantage

• Knowledge/Experience of Redhat Kickstart and Satellite.

• Understanding Backup and BCV concept is an advantage.

• Backup experience with HP Data Protector would be a plus
