Job Description
Our PHP developers contribute to improvements, new features and maintenance of our Symfony 3/4 based web applications.

Working as a member of our agile development team, new features are written using Object Oriented (OO) PHP, MySQL, HTML5 and JavaScript in an environment that encourages learning and the advancement of your technical skills as a developer.

As a senior member of the team there will be a requirement to support and mentor junior members of the team.

You will be based in our collaborative, open environment at our Head Office in Barton upon Humber.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain Wren’s custom built, cutting edge applications (Symfony 3/4 based)

• Write clean code that is clear and understandable by others

• Contribute to project specifications and estimations

• Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle

• Work with business stakeholders and development team to understand the initial scope for a new project

• Mentor and support junior members of the team

Experience & Knowledge:
• At least 4 years’ experience in creating and maintaining object oriented PHP5/7 based systems

• Experience of using the Symfony 3, Symfony 4 or equivalent framework

• Experience of working with MySQL 5+

• Demonstrable knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS/LESS or SASS, JavaScript and Ajax

• Experience of using Version Control systems such as Git as part of a team

• Knowledge of the Symfony 2, Symfony 3 or equivalent framework

• Knowledge of the Doctrine 2 ORM

• Experience in creating and maintaining RESTful APIs and JSON

• Experience of automated testing (preferably PHPUnit and Behat/Selenium)

• Experience of automated testing (e.g. Behat)

• Design patterns knowledge and practical experience implementing them

• Experience of Agile project methodologies and its impact on iterative design

• Experience of working in a continuous integration environment

• Familiar with Linux or Mac OS
