Job Description
Overall Responsibilities: 
This position is responsible for participating in complex projects as well as leading changes and updates for the full implementation lifecycle from Envisioning through Deployment. The Network Engineer works with Solution Architects to ensure Network and Telephony solution designs are in line with Global standards. The Network Engineer plans network-specific project implementation tasks and organizes work breakdown schedules to complete required tasks on a published timeline. The successful Network Engineer is confident, well organized, communicates well with all technology and business disciplines, manages risks and issues to closure. The Network Engineer works with resources across disciplines to meet commitments.

The Network Engineer has a high level of skill in Data Networks and intermediate skill with Voice technologies. The Network Engineer manages day-to-day operations including implementation of appropriate network monitoring tools in coordination with the Global monitoring team to proactively isolate events before service degradation occurs. The Network Engineer is also responsible to conduct Incident management, Problem management, and Change Management in accordance with Asurion Policies and Procedures. The Network Engineer also keeps technical documentation, network diagrams, inventory control documentation, and security documentation updated and available for IT support staff. The Network Engineer communicates regularly and clearly with remote team members to insure all parties are prepared to support the operational environment and project implementation tasks.

The Network Engineer is evaluated based on meeting network availability KPIs and competency in project delivery. Successful project delivery is measured by effective delivery against stated project goals.

  • Experienced in CheckPoint Firewall and Wireless Technology. 
  • Experience with F5 Load Balancing, TippingPoint and Palo Alto are a plus 
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure technologies such as computing (networking, telephony, security, server, storage, desktop, etc.). 
  • BA or BS degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field 
  • Six Sigma and/or ITIL experience is a plus 
  • Soft skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as written and oral communications skills 
  • Results driven, exceptionally self-motivated and directed, keen attention to detail, and strong sense of personal accountabilities 
  • Proven ability in working effectively with all level of management and staff positions, including pressured situations

Working schedule: 
  • Permanent night shift between 10 PM and 7 AM MNL. 
  • Tue-Sat or Sun-Thu schedule with 2 days off. 
  • On-call availability and need to work off-hours 
  • Occasional need to travel within or outside the Philippines 
  • Maybe occasionally assigned roles of similar scope and complexities when the business situation arises.

Log information

Pixel tags
Pixel tags, also known as web beacons, help Asurion better manage user experience and content tracking. Pixel tags are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, which provide a similar function to cookies and are used to track user interaction with content provided by Asurion or an affiliate organization. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, pixel tags are embedded invisibly within content. The small size and transparency of pixel tags are not intended to deceive content recipients, but minimize distraction.

Asurion may leverage external data sources in order to provide context and background on applicants in order to improve the application/recruiting experience, mitigate fraud or malicious activity, or comply with internal company and external regulatory requirements.
