Level: Expert Level - Quantity Surveyor
Work Schedule: Asia/Manila 07:00 AM - 04:00 PM

Large Sydney based Carpentry and Joinery company require a Joinery estimator (otherwise known as Quality Surveyor or Document Controller) to join the existing team.

You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be highly skilled in the joinery industry - ideally with previous experience (5 years) either within joinery estimating or having been a fully trades qualified joiner looking to move into an office environment. You will be provided with full support and will have the opportunity to grow within the business.

Home-Based Requirements:
  • Comfortable working from home 
  • Comfortable using Skype Video Call 
  • At least 3MBPS DSL/Wired Internet Connection (Wimax, Canopy, Dongles, etc are not allowed) 
  • Up-to-Date Laptop/Desktop
  • Decent headset and webcam 
  • Conducive private room; no background noise such as children, vehicles and/or any pets 
Must Have Skills: 
  • Degree in Architecture or Quantity Surveying, Construction, Design, Engineering. 
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Quantity Surveying, Construction, Design, Engineering or equivalent Construction/joinery experience 
  • Estimation experience 
  • Experience in reading and quantifying joinery/construction plans
Responsibilities:
  • Looking at plans with minimal detail and being able to understand how to apply material quantities based on the build ability of the Joinery.
  • Experience in Reading and quantifying Joinery Plans. 
  • Compare a document schedule with plan numbers to the actual plans and ensure there are no missing plans or details on the plans 
  • Identifying mistakes on documents and drawings 
  • Liaising with our Sydney team on Video call to run through tenders 
  • Experience in quantifying materials and inputting onto schedules 
  • Work with the project management and procurement teams in the implementation and handover of successful tenders 
  • Support monitoring and review of a project’s financial performance to ensure value add is consistent, variations are accounted for and margins are appropriate
