Job Description
We are looking for a portfolio manager to be a Pioneer employee for an innovative financing solutions for emerging growth companies based in Australia.

Full time position: Php 80,000- 100,000

Timezone: 6AM-3PM PH (Australian Timezone)

Location: Mandaluyong (near Boni MRT Station)

Client has been providing innovative financing solutions for emerging growth companies for over three decades. They provide debt capital for growth stage companies globally, partnering with businesses across the technology, life sciences and healthcare sectors to offer specialized lending solutions beyond what is available from traditional lenders.

About the role



The Portfolio Manager will assist the clients’ Investment Associates in monitoring and controlling their global portfolio of approximately 40 custom debt investments across multiple investment funds. The Portfolio Manager role is evolving and will initially be responsible for the below activities as well as establishing best practice financial reporting and financial control processes as the team continues to grow.

Specific activities will include:
  • Preparing monthly portfolio reports on each portfolio company (currently 35 companies in the portfolio and expected to grow by 10 to 20 companies per year)
  • Reconciliation of balance sheets (provided by each portfolio company) back to source data each month
  • Review and reconciliation of detailed loan tape data back to the loan agreement each month for specific portfolio companies
  • Assist Investment Associates in establishing management processes to ensure risks in the portfolio are identified mitigated on an ongoing basis
  • Prepare initial due diligence reports on new opportunities
  • Monitor news flow on existing portfolio companies on an ongoing basis
  • Perform special projects, such as testing of system enhancements and implementation of process improvements
  • Correspond with investment leads regarding portfolio management issues and preparation of reporting on new deal opportunities
  • Review audited financial statements or financial diligence reports submitted by portfolio companies on an annual basis
  • Do we want the portfolio manager person to liaise with third party service providers like Pitcher Partners?
  • Assisting in the preparation of ad-hoc reports and presentations on the performance of the client’s portfolio for annual investor meetings, team meetings and advisory board meetings
Professional qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • PICPA Qualified
  • ideally, has completed, or commenced studies to become a member of US Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Accountants ANZ or CPA Australia (*preferred)
Experience and expertise:
  • 6 to 8 year’s professional accounting or portfolio management experience
  • Strong analytical and analysis skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of management accounting reporting and analysis concepts
  • Experience preparing management accounts and reconciliations
  • Ability to manage workloads and deadlines, establish appropriate priorities, work on multiple projects concurrently
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills and aspires to lead a small team
  • Highly proficient using Excel,Word, and other Microsoft office programs
  • Proficient using various accounting software
  • Commercial, business, risk management or corporate credit assessment experience (desirable but not essential)
  • Working knowledge of loan products (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience with loan structures and documentation (desirable but not essential)
 Hours and environment:
  • The successful candidate will be working closely with the Australian client in a dynamic autonomous environment
  • Sydney, Australia, standard office hours
  • A-grade office facilities in Central Manila (Makati/Ortigas)
