Job Description
Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:
  • Netcool/OMNIbus administration and configuration. 
  • Active Event List Configuration. 
  • TIP/WebGUI Administration. 
  • Understanding of failover and High-Availability concepts of OMNIbus, Impact, SNMP Probes, Bridge Servers. 
  • Plan, design, enforce and audit security policies and procedures which safeguard the integrity and access to systems using multiple toolsets and languages to accomplish these tasks. 
  • Troubleshoot Netcool SNMP and Syslog probes, process execution problems and work with other team members to correct them. 
  • Respond to trouble-tickets via an internal application and/or phone reports. 
  • Making code changes to the system that have been vetted by our development team. 


Specific Knowledge/Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred. 
  • Experience with network management tools (such as IBM Netcool Suite, Nagios). 
  • 2+ years working knowledge of OMNIBUS. 
  • 1+ years working knowledge of Impact, TIP, & WebGUI. 
  • 2+ years IT experience (system administration, application support, database). 
  • 1+ years experience with support involving Databases including familiarity with schema design, security remediation and sizing. 
  • 1+ years’ experience with development involving access to databases MS SQL 
  • 2+ years' experience working with UNIX/Linux and well-versed with of most UNIX commands/utilities. 
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English.
