Job Description

  • Respond to requests for assistance from client or staff end-users, or other support staff working for clients or vendors. 
  • Remeidate alerts from monitoring tools. 
  • Support and respond to service outages or other incidents. 
  • Perform root cause analysis and problem resolution. 
  • Troubleshoot and debug of all layers in the OSI model. 
  • Perform routine and regularly scheduled maintenance and monitoring tasks. 
  • Perform installations, integrations, configurations, upgrades, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of various software technologies from multiple vendors. 
  • Perform installations, configurations, upgrades, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and maintenance of various hardware technologies from multiple vendors. 
  • Plan and execute patch updates or software upgrades. 
  • Manage & Maintian Operating Systems to current revisions (Windows, HP UX, Solaris, Linux, Apple/MAC) 
  • Maintain business cirtical systems such as email, ERP, CRM, BMS and or facility management suites. 
  • Implement Web Content Filtering soultions such as Websense, Smartfilter, SonicWall CF. 
  • Support Remote Access (Terminal Services, Citrix) 
  • Support, maintain and improve operational effiencies of the following technologies: 
  • Desktop (Microsoft Office Suite) 
  • Web Engines (IIS, Apache) 
  • Network Management (System Center, Site Scan, Silverback) 
  • User Authentication and Management (Active Directory, Passlogix, S2) 
  • Clustering (Microsoft) 
  • VMware (ESX, VDI) 
  • SAN (EMC2, NetAPP, ZFS, GNU/Linux) 
  • Blade Servers (HP, Cisco) 
  • IPS Probes (Cisco, SonicWall) 
  • Anti-Virus and Malware (Symantec) 
  • Routing and Switching Operating Systems (Cisco, HP, Juniper) 
  • Firewall Policy and VPN (Cisco, SonicWall, Fortinet) 
  • Wireless Access Points (Cisco, Ruckus) 
  • Network Management (SNMP, NetFlow) 
  • Backup and Backup Management (EVault) 
  • Spam Management over SMTP (Proofpoint) 
  • Encryption (SSH, SFTP, and PGP) 
  • Telephony (VoIP, Blackberry, IPhone, Android, CE) 
  • Video Recording Systems (OnSSI) 
JOB SPECIFICATIONS – Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:
  • 3 – 5 years of progressive industry experience in 24 x7 NOC, DC, System integrator or internal IT Support organization. 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computers or other equivalent field experience. 
  • Strong understanding of IT systems fundamentals and system management tasks. 
  • Strong understanding of network concepts, TCP/IP stack and common Internet protocols. 
  • Ability to clearly document and articulate technical issues to NOC 
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent issues and remain calm under high pressure situations 
  • Must be reliable and dependable, self motivated and willing to learn and contribute to building on the successes the NOC team. 
  • Ability to work closely with peers and other operations or engineering teams. 
  • Ability to function in a 24/7 operation and work flexible schedule on weekdays and weekends as required. 
  • Local travel may be required for this position. 
  • Enjoys a challenging yet rewarding environment. 
  • Current industry standard certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, VCP6, MSCE, Security + and RHE. 
Work Schedule:
  • 6AM-3PM/ 7AM-4PM/ 8AM-5PM (permanent dayshift)
