  • Job Description
    • Software engineer’s main role is to develop, maintain software applications by understanding technology stack, AWS cloud solutions, business operations, designing, developing, and installing software solutions. The Software engineer will work on an Agile development environment with continuous integration and deployment process, unit testing and peer reviews.
    • Often have to explain business processes to other programmers and technology restraints to non-technical business managers.
    • Increasingly need to have knowledge of some computer programming languages and applications, this is due to the wide variety of work that they can be involved in.

    Qualifications:
    • At least 2 years Java, J2EE, JSF , Spring framework, Web Services(API, Enterprise Messaging, SOAP)
    • Strong background on object oriented programming
    • 1 year AWS essentials
    • 1 year Unix experience
    • Knows tools including Git
    • Knowledge in Docker/kubernetes a plus
    • NoSQL experience, ideally with MongoDB, mysql
    • Experience of working in an Agile development process (Scrum or similar) within a web development domain.
    • Knows tools including Git
    • To communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues in IT team, as well as non-technical users
    • At least 2 years of working experience in the related fields is required for the position
    • Excellent solution design, data modelling, analysis and documentation skills.

And in 2014, Cambridge English Language Assessment (CELA) became one of our partners. It is the world’s largest provider of English language curriculums and qualifications for young learners and adults. It is also one of the international examination boards managed by Cambridge Assessment.

Today, the Manila office has grown to 400 plus personnel with expertise in the fields of Information Technology, Digital Publishing, and Customer Services. For thirteen years the Manila office has remarkably made exceptional service and technological contribution to the fulfilment of the Press’s goals and objectives. Currently, the organisation is making initiatives to developing new technological solutions and service innovations to meet the growing needs of our partners within the Cambridge community. Cambridge University Press and Cambridge Assessment are continually making investments to achieve their desired products and services that would enable current and future customers develop better online experience.
