So what does a Data Guru really do? Think of yourself as the one directly accountable for providing the business with analysis and intelligence on how their business is performing, so not just everyone is qualified for this role. So come on, now we need your full concentration because it’s time to imagine what it’s like being a Data Guru.

Imagine yourself going to work with one thing on your mind: that through close partnership with the site leads (Operations VPs), they design, implement, and track BI programs to produce measurable improvements in campaign performance, profitability, and culture. As you tackle your new tasks for the day, you know that it comes down to one thing: that you will lead the BI team onsite and are responsible for their deliverables, management, and personal development.

As a Data Guru, you will make sure that all work quality standards and all work performed by your team are delivered and executed within the mutually agreed upon target completion date. Also that all work performed by your team are delivered and meet quality standards based on the requirement and as determined by the stakeholder. While all work performed by your team is accurately reflected in the job order tracking system. In terms of reporting, the weekly status reports to the Chief of Staff which should include at the minimum past week’s team attendance, schedule adherence, coaching compliance rate, and hiring, status of all pending projects and scheduled tasks assigned to him and his team, and list of key risks of their site and actions to address them. What else are you accountable for? Well, as being the Data Guru is accountable for ensuring quality for all operations of their site. Therefore, the Data Guru must deliver measurable improvement to each campaign in their site to the client’s expectations of a good CX interaction for that channel, as determined by the site VP. In terms of deliverables, you will be accountable for the dashboard package and data integration for each campaign in their site. There is a clear expectation that all dashboards are automated, with no manual intervention required in producing reports once the ETL process is established. You will also be accountable for providing the site VP meaningful analysis on the performance of their site and measurably and materially improve its profitability, efficiency, or culture. Lastly, you will also be responsible for conducting at least one performance monitoring session per direct report per week covering their deliverables, their performance, their upskilling requirements, and their personal development. Results of these sessions should be reported in the weekly status reports and logged in the GROW Coaching tool.

So, what is it we’re looking for? Well, since this is a data guru post we need someone who already has the skills to even call themselves one. So definitely someone with experience in being one, so if you have a Bachelor’s degree, MBA or JD -- then you’re preferred. We also need someone who has strong communication skills, someone who has a strong desire to compete and has a champion’s mindset, and also works well with others and fosters teamwork.

We also need to set stretch goals and adopt high standards for themselves, someone who takes initiative, someone who has integrity, and walks the talk. We need someone who can think ahead, can anticipate, and act. Someone who uses good judgement, someone who’s open to international travel as needed, and is willing to work graveyard hours, and on weekends. If your answer is yes, then we want to talk to you!
