Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Promote the Company’s image and capabilities as an apparel supply chain partner and establishes good relationship with customers.
  • Implement business strategies and programs set up by top management.
  • Thoroughly understand and interpret customers’ requirements, assess opportunities of target customers and markets.
  • Formulate overall merchandising strategy/direction to incorporate appropriate product development and promotions with the view of maximizing shipment sales & gross margins.
  • Lead, direct and work closely with relevant teams across the Company to set business targets and annual profit and loss budgets by account/customer
  • To review and monitor progress on a regular basis against market changes and movement to ensure proper achievement of targets.
  • Establish and direct manpower and resources for the relevant merchandising units in line with overall strategy and agreed budgets.
  • Kept abreast with the market and merchandise trends and directions, consumer patterns and preferences, trade rules and regulations, relevant technology development, sales performance of key players and key accounts.
  • Co-ordinate and lead merchandising staff to work jointly with the Production/technical teams to
             - Identify new fabrics and fashion trends,
             - Produce quality and commercial designs, presentations and samples
             - Ensuring designs are practical and viable for mass production.
  • Pre-empt and anticipate customers’ needs in terms of trends and designs, production facilities and repeats facilitate fulfillment of such whenever possible
  • Co-ordinate with the Company’s QA and production teams to strategize on production allocation to ensure the Company’s future and current production needs are met and remain competitive.
  • Facilitate close liaison and work in synergy among merchandising units, R&D, technical center, production, IE, QA, Engineering and Mechanics, Logistics, Business Operations on the full value chain, including fabric and material planning, purchasing, sampling, factory loading and production allocation, QA, shipping and logistics, with the goal to enable timely execution of all order and in the right quality.
  • Ensure, establish and implement proper systems and control in purchasing, while working closely with the company’s compliance division to monitor, prevent and avoid the company’s unnecessary exposure to unethical and substandard practices and financial risks.
  • Recruit, train, motivate and retain quality staff to maintain the company’s high standard, continuity, and to groom for management succession
  • Assist the CEO in working closely with the company’s management team for the day-to-day management of the Company’s operations and to work towards the accomplishment of the Company’s strategy and vision.
Job Qualifications:
  • Min. Bachelor’s Degree in a reputable and recognized University
  • Savvy product and business development executive with ample experience in Apparel sourcing, merchandising and/or retail industry with a proven track record in delivering solid business results.
  • Strong fashion and aesthetics sense.
  • Leadership qualities in influencing, negotiating and facilitating.
  • Proven track record in managing large and multicultural teams.
  • Experience working with Adidas is a big plus
  • Willing to station in Cebu, Philippines and travel extensively.
