Job Description
  • Provide operational technical support to Asurion’s platform, data and applications addressing a broad range of technologies including TIBCO, Pega, .NET Framework, running Java / PHP / Python applications on Linux 
  • Triage, deep dive and troubleshoot issues 
  • Collaborate with Development, Engineering, and Operations resources to provide technical expertise and support on key initiatives for system availability and reliability 
  • Assist with environment setup, automation, and streamlining the stand up and scale out of infrastructure 
  • Maintain and improve monitoring and alerting systems 
  • Build requisite automation for repetitive yet complex tasks and self-healing of systems through the use of scripts 
  • Continually drive automation and efficiencies to increase productivity and reduce costs 
  • Be able to provide automated and scalable deployment solutions 
  • Drive root cause analysis for critical incidents 
  • Write technical procedures and documentation including operational runbooks 
  • Adjust to shift schedule changes, if required 
  • Participate in on-call rotation, including weekends and holidays 

  • 3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field 
  • Able to code using at least two of the following - Shell, Python, Perl, Puppet 
  • At least 1 year working experience in a DevOps culture using different DevOps tools (Jenkins or any similar CI/CD platform) 
  • Solid technical application support experience with global application production sites 
  • Support expertise in broad technologies including Java, Apache, Tibco, .Net Framework, Pega, Oracle DB, Packer 
  • Strong Linux background 
  • Experience in AWS (Solutions Architect Associate Level Certification is a plus) 
  • Experience in SCM tools – Git, Bitbucket, SVN 
  • Fundamental understanding of system engineering/architecture concepts 
  • Experience in using log aggregation tools – ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana 
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills to diagnose and address application issues 
  • Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment, in a high-pressure, on-call environment with shifting priorities 
  • Experience working in a geographically distributed team 
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to create organized and informative reports, as well as comprehensive, accurate documentation
